Joshua Kimmich has questioned France Football’s criteria for leaving Jamal Musiala out of this year’s Ballon d’Or shortlist.
Current Germany captain Joshua Kimmich has questioned the judging criteria that have kept Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala, 21, out of the 30-man shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or, Ufabet Germany reported on Sunday.
Musiala shone in Germany’s 5-0 rout of Hungary on Saturday. Scoring one goal and providing three assists, prompting Kimmich to question why the 21-year-old midfielder was left out of the 30-man shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
‘I don’t know what criteria were use to decide. But really the best players should be on the list and Jamal is definitely one of them, he show it again today,’ Kimmich said of Musiala.
As reported via Sport1, editor-in-chief of France Football, Vincent Garcia, explained the reasons as to why Musiala wasn’t nominate. These were due to the player’s poor goal rate in the Champions League.
